Jonathan Oxer is Founder and Technical Director of Internet Vision Technologies, and is recognised as one of the pioneers of dynamic websites.

Commencing trading in 1994 as Mission Internet, IVT was one of the first businesses to focus on managing dynamic website content using databases. With a rapidly growing reputation and client list, it also became one of the first companies ever to do real-time event coverage via the Internet when a live feed was run from the floor of the national Bicycle Industry Trade Show in Sydney, Australia in 1995.

Since then Jonathan and his staff have planned, implemented and managed websites and intranets for companies ranging from tiny backyard businesses to multinational corporations. His clients span many countries, including Australia, Canada, Germany, New Zealand and the United States.

Internet Vision Technologies has a strong focus on Free/Open Source Software, and its staff are active contributors to and members of the Open Source community.

Jonathan is a Debian GNU/Linux developer, and organised the Debian Mini-Conference in Perth in January 2003 in association with Linux Conf Australia where he also presented one of the technical papers. He has also spoken on various Internet-related topics at both corporate and government seminars, and been a guest on radio station RRR's weekly "Byte Into It" segment.

He is a regular contributor to the Australian Linux magazine linmagau with a column titled The Debian Universe. His first book, How To Build A Website And Stay Sane, was published in 2004, and he is already hard at work on his next three books: Web-Based Business Intelligence, Disaster Proofing For Small Networks, and The Debian Universe, which is based on his writings for linmagau.

Jonathan lives in Melbourne, Australia with his wife and two children.
